Happy Easter to Christians over the world as we all mark and celebrate the death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ which is the true foundation of Christianity. As Nigerians join Christians all over the world to celebrate, we pray that the message of easter which is peace and love for neighbour will reflect in the lives of every Nigerian.
But what is trending this easter period in the country today is the whistle blower policy which is already yielding results.
Monies have been recovered so far in uncompleted buildings, markets and luxury homes. The latest being the $48M cash amongst other currencies recovered in a luxury home in Ikoyi. The whistle blower who blew the whistle said an unidentified woman usually comes to the said house to drop bags. According to the whistle blower this woman always comes in tattered clothes but the suspicious thing about this was that the woman was not tattered herself. When the EFCC went in and made the discoveries of the money and the news was all over the place with Nigerians still reacting to it, an agency of government the NIA came out to say that the money belonged to them and was used for a covert operation. How laughable!

Nigerians are used to being told lies, somehow the powers that be would try to cover up cases of corruption using different means even going as far as using the judiciary who have become notorious for never convicting cases of corruption but would sentence an armed robber to death easily. The NIA is undoubtedly covering up for a high profile member of Buhari's government. Nigerians are tired of the lies. We demand that the EFCC and the Federal Government come out to us tell who the owner of the house where the monies where found is and to tell us the real depositors of the money for NIA would never use a tattered woman to deposit money for an intelligence operation. And by the way, w've never heard of the operations of this NIA before now, all of a sudden monies are found and their names are in the news.
Cases of corruption have been swept under the carpet by this government because of their lazy and unintelligent approach to investigations. The $20B unremitted by the NNPC in the past administration is still pending, the halliburton case unvisited and many of such cases pending in the courts with lawyers milking the cases where the thieves keep paying them from the proceeds of corruption.
Enough is enough, the truth must come out. If Nigeria would ever make progress as a nation, then corruption must be tackled head on and we must expose all those who are behind it no matter how big they are and no matter whose OX is gored.
