WE CAN'T ALL BE FEMINISTS

Feminism is a choice, it is an outlook of life based on certain premises and perceptions.
I believe the president was speaking from a cultural standpoint when he made the remarks about his wife in Berlin, Germany. I believe he was describing her roles to him in their marriage of 27years.
I do not think however that it was safe him to make those comments in faraway Berlin especially when on an official visit.

The feminists and those who think the comments were sexist have a right to their opinion but they only represent themselves. They have no right to force their views down everybody's throat.

I believe in the equality of both sexes but I also know that we have God-given roles to play to maintain a balance in family and society. That is not to say that roles cannot be adjusted with the understanding and love of the couples involved.

At the risk of being politically incorrect, I stand against feminism the way it has been described by the likes of foremost Nigerian novelist, Chimammanda Ngozi Adichie and those who support her views. I have a problem with when she says things like dressing is not an expression of morality when we all know you dress the way you want to be addressed. I also have a problem with the explicit sexual content both in her books and in their movies. I think it is highly unnecessary.

The movement for homosexualism and gay rights started like this and today it is law in some developed countries who should know better.
We can't all be feminists and once again I support the right to balance in marriages.

THE SILENCE OF OMISSION

Silence means consent, a certain school of thought holds. That means if you fail to speak up against anything wrong, you can be charged with supporting the wrong you failed to speak up about.

The End SARS Protests

I have been quiet since the end sars movement started. Not because I didn’t want to speak but because I was hoping for it to culminate into something tangible and bring about the positive change that a lot of Nigerians desired. I remember having a conversation about it with someone and I prayed that it would not spiral out of control. I wanted a positive change but I wasn’t prepared for the cost of laying down lives because I sensed that it was going to get to that should the protesters expand their agitation to good governance. The powers that be would not surrender without a fight and they have the resources of the government on their side. They would claim that the protesters wanted to topple a “democratically elected” president. And that would make it illegal. And what is democratic about a president who has refused to listen to the cries of the people? In their short memory however, they have forgotten that this same president came into power for the first time in 1985 after a coup...
