WAR ROOM

A beautiful movie showing us the love of God and His ever standing faithfulness to His children.

Elizabeth and Tony Jordan were two  successful people who were religious but hadn't known what it was like for God to minister unto them. They had a big house, nice jobs, with Tony as a pharmaceutical salesman and Elizabeth as a realtor. They  had a daughter called Danielle. Despite the wealthy lifestyle, Tony was cold towards his family. He refused to give money to his wife's sister and was verbally abusive towards her. He treated Danielle no less than a property gotten from one  of his illegal deals.

Mrs Clara, an elderly woman needed to sell her house and Elizabeth was acquainted with her to make the sale. Mrs Clara was a beautiful, religious woman who was defined by her past life laced with bitterness and selfish pride that was developed by the distance her husband created being a military man. She endured many years of lack of attention, care and disagreements over her husband's choices. Her husband, Ted, died without resolving his differences with Mrs Clara.
This made her desolate with grief, angry giving her a chance to reach out to God.
Elizabeth enjoyed being with Mrs Clara, till one day Mrs Clara wanted Elizabeth going on her knees and praying like the warrior she knew she was.
Elizabeth confessed to loving God in a lukewarm manner and told her of the difficulties she faced with her marriage and how hurt she was with Tony.
Mrs Clara gave her the war room strategy. Elizabeth took this advice unwholeheartedly.
After seeing that her marriage was not changing, it had detoriated with proof of Tony in a cheating scandal, she came clean.

She cleared out her wardrobe, leaving just a chair and a Bible. She prayed seriously and cast out the devil from destroying her home.
As she prayed, Tony stopped the affair with the other woman and lost his job.
He had given up. He was like a raving animal waiting for his wife to say something sarcastic and for him to vent his frustration out on her.
But she didn't. She only cooked his meal, spoke with him calmly and prayed harder.
No! No! Tony wasn't buying into it. He switched the meal she cooked and hardly understood her new behavior.

Tony had some drugs he kept illegally to sell. He had no idea what he wanted to do with the drugs. He was confused. He stumbled on his wife's praying room, read all her heartfelt prayers to God for him and broke down in tears.

For the first time he  spoke to his wife in a nonviolent way asking her for forgiveness. She forgave him. He decided to turn himself in to  the company and await judgment.
Miraculously, the company didn't sue him. God's grace never left him or his family. He decided to  change for the better. He treated his wife lovingly and cared for his daughter Danielle. Tony and Elizabeth were blessed and saved by God's grace.
They continued and never departed the war room.

Moral : war room is a great movie showing us the power of God's word and that without God, nothing is possible. God can forgive us our sins, He will never hold anything against us. If just we approach Him and begin happiness in prayer.

THE SILENCE OF OMISSION

Silence means consent, a certain school of thought holds. That means if you fail to speak up against anything wrong, you can be charged with supporting the wrong you failed to speak up about.

The End SARS Protests

I have been quiet since the end sars movement started. Not because I didn’t want to speak but because I was hoping for it to culminate into something tangible and bring about the positive change that a lot of Nigerians desired. I remember having a conversation about it with someone and I prayed that it would not spiral out of control. I wanted a positive change but I wasn’t prepared for the cost of laying down lives because I sensed that it was going to get to that should the protesters expand their agitation to good governance. The powers that be would not surrender without a fight and they have the resources of the government on their side. They would claim that the protesters wanted to topple a “democratically elected” president. And that would make it illegal. And what is democratic about a president who has refused to listen to the cries of the people? In their short memory however, they have forgotten that this same president came into power for the first time in 1985 after a coup...
